Looking back at how this match played out it would be very easy to only focus on the final moments where Wests had the opportunity to steal the win with a late penalty goal. In a decisive match at ANU North Oval, Royals triumphed over Uni-Norths with a commanding score of 52 to 7. The Canberra Royals Rugby community are deeply saddened by the news of Brian Bourke's ('Bourkey') passing. 'Bourkey' holds almost mythical status in Royals 75 year history.  'Bourkey' played juniors for Royals up until Under 18s. He then carved out a legendary rugby league career at the Queanbeyan Blues (Blues) from 1959 to 1976. 'Bourkey' also represented Monaro and NSW Country at a senior level in rugby league.
